To the few people who may pass by my site. I am alive but am just poor at managing this site. I promise to update soon with some photos of what has been going on in good ol' New Orleans.

Birthday Tüte

So in May I celebrated another birthday! This year I was spoilt again and got my Tüte. It was filled with lots of snacks and stationary items for my new jobs. It you don't know what a tüte is find an Austrian or German and ask them.

Working Girl

I know my blog has been dead for the past 2 months but when you have to get up at 5.30am everyday and sleep all weekend there really isn't much time for anything else, except the occasional burger.

Other news:
* I bought a new bicycle after my last one got stolen from our backyard during Mardi Gras
* We are moving! The owners are coming back and so we have to pack up and move. I will let you know where and when.
* OFF to Europe - going to Germany (via Italy) for 2 weeks for a wedding and to visit Thomas' family.

Cats & Chevron News

After 8 months I finally have a job! Chevron made me an offer for a reservoir engineering postion, working on development fields in the Gulf of Mexico. I expect to be starting some time in May.
I also went through the Shell recruitment process and although I was successful, they don't have a position for me at the moment in New Orleans. :)

Other exciting news...
I would like to introduce 'Louis LeBoeuf'. He is coming back to New Orleans on Monday. Louis evacuated to Houston after the hurricane. His owners are now moving to nearby Baton Rouge but unfortunately there is no room for Louis, so he is coming back to his first home which is our home.

French Quarter Festival 2007

Last weekend we had a chance to enjoy one of New Orlean's festivals - the French Quarter Festival. It is a free event with different music tents along the river and in the Quarter. Next weekend the famous Jazz Festival begins.



p.s. I coloured my hair darker so that I would appear more intelligent in the job interviews!

Vieques, Puerto Rico

Thomas and I recently travelled to a small island off the coast of Puerto Rico, called Vieques (VEE-A-KES). It was a last minute decision and we chose this destination because of the promise of white sandy beaches. Take a look for yourself!











We stayed at a small B&B and travelled to different beaches every day.

Mardi Gras 2007

Mardi Gras 2007 came to a conclusion on Tuesday (obviously). There were many parades during the two week period leading up to the final day. Thomas and I went to many of them and manage to catch hundreds of beaded necklaces. Fortunately the weather was quite kind and except for a few stabbings, the festival was a postive event for the people and city.
